A SPECIAL CHRISTMAS INVITATION . . .
"Lighting of the christmas tree"
Join us for our 2nd Annual "Lighting of the Christmas Tree" ! The Christmas tree lighting is a holiday community event located at the Huntertown Family Park. Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will be making an appearance and pictures can be taken with Santa. There will be hot drinks and caroling and the announcement of the winners of the poem and prose contest which were written by children from grades 1-5 attending Cedar Canyon School. They were asked by the Huntertown Family Park Board members to write a poem or short story on "What do Christmas lights mean to you?". There will be one winning essay selected from each grade level. The talented writers will be announced at the "Lighting of the Christmas Tree" and will help light the tree as together they throw the light switch. The winners poems/short stories will be published in the Northwest News along with a picture! Be sure to look for this in the park news article!
